In particular, Adidas has been running the campaign “Members Week” which includes a lineup of global amba̾s̾sadors.
Of course Blackpink was also counted in and yesterday, an advertising video featuring Blackpink was teased on Weibo – a Chinese platform.
The ten-second video gave us a glimpse of all four members together. However, when moving into individual members’ parts, except Jisoo, only Lisa, Jennie and Rosé were shown up.
More shσckingly, on Adidas’ Chinese website, the header image had a group photo, but Jisoo was cropped out.
Blinks even ran into an Adidas store and sadly, they only saw the individual posters of Rosé, Jennie and Lisa which were hung next to the poster of the group.
So, where is Jisoo? Well, I thought that everyone has already known that Blackpink is 4 members, not 3?
Immediately, fans flocked into social platforms to voice their anger at Jisoo being missed out on the pictures.
Lots of Blinks shared other instances of the brand excluding Jisoo from their branding, including websites, videos, and marketing.
In fact, this is not the first time that Adidas has got involved in similar controversies.
The same story did happen last year, as Adidas showed up a catalogue featuring Blackpink except for Jisoo without any reasons.
And more notably, despite getting Adidas’s mistreatment over and over, Jisoo is the one who promotes this brand the most.
If you notice, she has constantly promoted the brand on her social media and in her outfits. Especially, a pair of shoes worn by Jisoo sold out in síngαpσrє both in-store and online right after she wore them.
With the issue gaining more attention, the hashtags #AdidasrespectJisoo and #Jisoo are trending worldwide at the moment, with over 1,000,000 tweets from global fans sharing their opinion on the matter.
Many fans expressed that they not only want an apology and explanation from Adidas, but also they want soмєтнing from YG, who fans believe have not done their best to ensure each member gets equal exposure and there is no unfair treatment.
However, up to now, both Adidas and YG have not given any official statement regarding this controversy.
