Lia ITZY was accused by an anonymous netizen (temporarily called A) of borrowing money without repaying, constantly tormenting and cursing the victim.
Right after that, JYP Entertainment strongly sued this netizen for defamation, so people were assured Lia was innocent.
However, today (June 13), Yeonsu, Incheon police station rejected the lawsuit filed by JYP Entertainment. The police department said there was no clear evidence to prove that A wrote false articles or with slanderous purposes:
“After reviewing the content of A’s post, we determined that there is no basis to determine charges of defamation”.
This information shocked netizens, suspecting that Lia’s school violence scandal was true, so the police rejected JYP’s lawsuit.
In an interview with Yonhap News, the victim confessed that whenever she thinks about the time she was bullied, “A” feels extremely difficult and heavy. The victim wants a sincere apology from Lia.
Shortly after, JYP Entertainment spoke up about the police’s investigation results, “We have heard about the results of the investigation and are trying to verify the process. It is difficult to accept the current results. We will decide to answer when there are clearer results.”
This information is currently a hot topic on Korean news sites and social networks. What do you think? Will Lia suffer the same fate as Stray Kids’ Hyunjin? What actually happened? And what is your theory?
